Audrey Friesen, now a Grade 12 student at Maymont, was crowned Miss Teenage Western Saskatchewan 2016, in the spring. Beginning July 17 she spent a week in Toronto. During the week Audrey and the 53 other contestants were trained how to walk the runway wearing swimwear and evening gowns. They were also taught two dances by the talented choreographers. Audrey also had the opportunity to visit the golf academy and play archery tag. The girls also received a bag full of sponsored gifts.Â
Unfortunately on the night of the pageant, July 24, Audrey did not make top 20. Although she felt a little disappointed she did not regret the experience at all. The bonds she made with the girls, especially her roommate from Ontario, made it all worth it. Audrey is very grateful for her many supporters on social media and throughout her community. Being in her senior year of school she hopes she can find the time to continue to volunteer and make appearances. She will represent Saskatchewan until next April when she will crown the next title holder.
