Other birds joining chickadees at the feeders

The last snowfall, April 17, is well on the way to being melted, leaving puddles in places. The juncos have enjoyed themselves bathing. Up until just recently chickadees have been mainly what are coming to the bird feeders.

Up until just recently chickadees have been mainly what are coming to the bird feeders. Also two species of woodpeckers, mostly downies, enjoy the sunflower seeds. Lately purple finches have been here. With their reddish colouring, they brighten up the feeders.

A good crowd attended the 2 p.m. service at St. Paul's Forest Bank with Rev. Peter Yeung officiating, today, Easter Sunday. Rev. Yeung will hold his last service at St. Paul's May 18 before his retirement.

Many family gatherings were held over the weekend, especially welcome for school students who are having Easter holidays.

Visiting on Good Friday, with Helena Pike, were her grandson, Mark Oddan, his wife Tracy and their son Carter. They make their home in Saskatoon. They went on to spend the rest of the weekend with Mark's parents, Maurice and Ellen Oddan, where Carter especially enjoyed seeing the new lambs and calves.

Yesterday, Saturday was a beautiful, sunny day to enjoy the outdoors.

Gully Gus says, "We can certainly learn a lot from an ant - he's the busiest creature on earth, yet he always has time to go to picnics!"
