Open house for friends hosted as part of family visit

We have been experiencing showers or just cloudy skies the last few days, quite a change from the hot weather just a few days before. Thunder has been part of the rain showers. Last night. thunder could be heard along with the rain.

'Keith and Eileen Evans enjoyed having all their family home last week: Kathy and Chris Jacobs and their children, Kaitlyn, Evan and Cole of Salmon Arm, B.C.; Karen and Brian Sjoberg and their children, Brooke, Nicole and Paige of Lloydminster; John and Calynda Evans and son Logan of Calgary, Alta.; and Joanne and Ben Rawlinson of Kelowna, B.C. They held an open house July 18. It was a great opportunity for relatives and friends to visit the Evans family and see their growing family.

Eileen's brother, Donald Forrest and his wife, Mary Anne arrived from Peterborough, Ont., just in time the evening of July 18, to visit with all who came to the open house. They are spending some time with Keith and Eileen before driving back to Peterborough.

A host of guests were present at the farm home of Rick and Karen Johnston, July 13, at an outdoor ceremony which united Kaitlynn Bosch and Tyler Johnston in marriage. Officiating at the ceremony was Mrs. Deb Chapman. Although skies were cloudy, no rain fell on the happy couple throughout the afternoon. A reception followed at the Maidstone arena where friends and relatives were able to continue the celebration with lots of visiting. Our congratulations to Tyler and Kaitlynn.

Mrs. Doreen Angus of Victoria, B.C. and her daughter, Margaret, visited with Lois Pike on the weekend. They were here for Kaitlynn and Tyler Johnston's wedding celebrations so were able to visit with many relatives and friends.

Congratulations to Maureen (Pike) Bexson of Strome, Alta. who was invited to the Edmonton Lily Show and came up with a first, second and honourable mention flower arranging.
