MELFORT — Oktoberfest is returning to Melfort this year.
This year it’s organized by and will be fundraising event for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Melfort and the North East SPCA.
“It’s going to be an awesome opportunity to get together with friends and neighbors to celebrate the season, and meanwhile support two community serving charities,” stated Kathryn Carswell, Development Co-ordinator for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Melfort, in a press release.
Oktoberfest takes place on Oct. 27. Cocktail hour starts at 5:30 pm at the Kerry Vickar Centre, followed by dinner at 6:30 pm. It will include live music by Major Distraction, beverages, games, a silent auction and 50/50 draw.
“As a fundraising event, we want people to come out to Oktoberfest expecting to have a good time, but all the while helping to support two organizations that are of the utmost importance,” stated Kirby Hardwick, Programs Manager for the North East SPCA in the press release.
