Among the 325 University of Alberta Augustana Campus students earning scholarships for the 2013-14 academic program were three Northwest students.
Boyd Wakelin, of Battleford, a second year Bachelor of Management student, was awarded a total of $500 for Hockey, funded by an Augustana Faculty Award in Hockey.
Kayla Hartley, of Livelong, a first year Bachelor of Science student, was awarded a total of $3,000 for Leadership, Non-Alberta Residency and Academic Excellence, funded by an Augustana Faculty Leadership Award, an Augustana Non-Alberta Incentive Entrance Award, the ATCO Gas Award, an Augustana Faculty Academic Entrance Scholarship, and a Roland Standsfield Young Memorial Academic Excellence Scholarship.
Ian Skinner, of Turtleford, a second year Bachelor of Arts student, was awarded a total of $500 for Choral, funded by an Augustana Faculty Fine Arts Award in Choral.
Over $574,000 was provided by the University of Alberta and Augustana Campus in recognition of excellence in academics, fine arts, athletics, and leadership. Support comes from donors, investment earnings on endowments and from faculty funded awards.
