The North Battleford Good Neighbour Network has been having the Neighbourhood Wellness Block Party for a number of years.

The fifth annual Neighbourhood Wellness Block Party will be held on Sept. 7 from noon to 6 p.m. on the 1200 block of 107th Street in North Battleford. Everyone in the community is welcome.

With the help of volunteers, musicians and the support of donations from businesses and people organizers hope to supply free hot dogs, popcorn drinks, live music, face painting and other children's activities.

This annual event is about neighbours getting to know each other, to share and have fun. It's a way to tell those who care about safe comfortable neighbourhoods that we are there for each other and let those who don't care that "we" are watching out for each other.

Again, this year we are hoping to supply hot dogs and refreshment for free to everyone that comes. We also hope to have children's activities and some performers have come forward to donate their time. We will need hotdogs, buns or bread, condiments, refreshments, a PA system, portable potties/sewer services, a stage sponsor, photocopying and kid's prizes (preferably school supplies). No cash donations if possible. Gift certificates or in-kind donations please.

Community organizations that promote neighbourhood wellness are invited to join in to share their information, put on an activity or have table or booth space if they wish. Aside from social, health and justice organizations, businesses are just as much a stakeholder in safe, comfortable neighbourhoods and donations from local business would be greatly appreciated. We ask that no one solicit fundraising or business sales on the site. Everything needs to be free.
