The regular monthly meeting of the Maidstone Museum was held May 26 at the museum with Mae Hinde bringing the meeting to order.
The main topic was the July 1 celebration at which the museum provides stage entertainment, children's races and a food booth.
The local AG Food manager has chosen the museum for their community awards event this year. AG Food supplied the food for two barbecues held outside their store May 14 and May 23. The museum volunteers supplied the workers.
The Brownies, Guides and parents turned out May 24 to rake and bag the leaves at the museum grounds. A noon lunch was provided for all who came to work. The town provided a truck to take away the bags of leaves and also provided plastic bags for this event.
The Brownies make some money and the museum grounds get cleaned up. A win-win arrangement for both organizations.
