Museum reps meet in Wilkie

The North West Museum Association fall meeting was hosted by the Wilkie Museum members Oct. 4. Museums represented were Bresaylor, Glaslyn, Goodsoil, Lashburn, Maidstone, Neilburg, Meadow Lake, Rabbit Lake, St. Walburg, Spiritwood, Unity and Wilkie.

The North West Museum Association fall meeting was hosted by the Wilkie Museum members Oct. 4.

Museums represented were Bresaylor, Glaslyn, Goodsoil, Lashburn, Maidstone, Neilburg, Meadow Lake, Rabbit Lake, St. Walburg, Spiritwood, Unity and Wilkie. Also represented was the Museum Association of Saskatchewan.

Each person introduced themselves and brought with them an artifact or spoke about the First and Second World Wars.

Guest speaker Karen Steuder from Regina's archealogical society talked about a tour van that will be in the Northwest in the summer of 2015. The mobile display will introduce the public and school children to the different branches of their organization.

Lunch was served at noon. Numerous door prizes were drawn for and a group of a karate members demonstrated their different moves of defence.

The visitors enjoyed a tour of the Wilkie Museum.

Business of the NWMA was taken care of during the day.

The spring meeting will be held in Goodsoil with tentative date being May 2 2015.
