Hi there! Happy Halloween, everyone! It was a wonderful day with no snow like in past years. I hope all of the children got out and enjoyed the day.

October was a busy month here at the high rise. Oct. 3, we were pleased to have the Meota Choir entertain us. One of the gentlemen dressed up as a blonde, busty woman and came on to some of the men that were present. We all had a good laugh. Their singing and their antics made it a delightful afternoon.

We had a free Thanksgiving supper catered by Second to None Oct. 9. It was well attended and enjoyed by all.

Oct. 17, the Leowens entertained us with their singing and playing of all our old favourite songs. It brings back many fond memories.

The cooks in the high rise were busy making some delicious dishes for a potluck Oct. 24. There were a variety of tasty foods for. Thank you to all that came and enjoyed.

On Halloween we all went to the lounge to have a pizza party.

Quite a few of our tenants celebrated a lovely Thanksgiving with their families.

Shelley Bachelder travelled to Mayfair for a Thanksgiving weekend with her family. They were busy combining then so hope they finished now, Shelley!.

Barb Foot, Mary Dearborn, and Shelley attended a delicious fowl supper in Mayfair. Those turkey suppers are always so good.

Ida Baker was a very busy lady in October. Oct. 4, her granddaughter and three great-grandchildren came to her mother's place to visit from Medicine Hat, Alta. Ida went over to visit with them Sunday. Also present was Ida's daughter from Saskatoon. Oct. 12, Ida's son and daughter-in-law from Medicine Hat came to visit. On Thanksgiving Day, Ida's grandson from Battleford picked her up for a delicious supper at their place. Oct. 25, Ida went to Biggar to visit her sister and her niece and family. It sounds like you had some wonderful visits with your families, Ida.

For Thanksgiving, Mary Dearborn went out to her son and daughter-in-law, Blair and Anne's farm at Richard. Their son Brennan and his girlfriend Jade from Esterhazy were home. Mary's son and daughter-in-law Gary and Elaine from Maidstone were also there, so everyone enjoyed a great turkey supper and had a nice visit. It sounded like you have a very good time with your families, Mary.

Shirley Tebay spent Thanksgiving at Metinota at the home of son Dennis and Juliette Tebay. They enjoyed a delicious turkey supper with all the trimmings. Two grandsons and families were also present. It sounds like you had a great get-together, Shirley.

I also had a lovely Thanksgiving supper at my daughter Darlene and son-in-law David's in Battleford. Also present were my other daughter and son-in-law, two granddaughters and their spouses and a little great-granddaughter. It was so nice to get together and have such a good visit. That's what Thanksgiving is all about, isn't it, folks?

Nancy and George Milnthorp spent Thanksgiving and their 65th anniversary with all their family at the home of the daughter, Darlene and Adrian Iverson. They have a nice day. Congratulations, folks, on your 65th anniversary.

Our sympathy goes out to Louise Haubold and family on the loss of her husband Eric a while ago. He was such a nice gentleman and we will all miss him here.

I'm sure we will all be hoping for continued nice weather. Take care, everyone, and until next time.
