Mothers feted on their special day

I'm home from a two-week stay at my son's in Cold Lake, Alta. His wife's mother passed away and they were attending her funeral in Trenton, Ont. While there I had to shovel snow two times. It's not spring yet.

Rose Danychuk's daughter Nancy du Bussac and her granddaughter Brett Dorash of Biggar spent the weekend with her for Mother's Day. Lindsay de Bussac will be here this weekend to visit grandma.

Tillie Linkert spent Mother's Day with her family at the home of Bruce and Shirley James in Waseca. Since it was Mother's Day the men did the cooking. She also got many lovely flowers.

Tillie Linkert had a bus trip to Edmonton, Alta. to the greenhouses. The flowers were beautiful.

Happy birthday to Norma Lott, who celebrated May 12. She was with her family at Sonny's Restaurant for an enjoyable supper.

Dorothy Kissick was to her granddaughter Dori Ryan's to help great-granddaughter Kylee celebrate her 10th birthday.

Vickie of Unity and grandson Jason of Lloydminster were to visit Dorothy and have supper Saturday. Dorothy spent Mother's Day at Craig and Theresa Kissick's.

Marion and Bill Staughton took Jean Stewart and I to the truck stop for Mother's Day supper. After they took us for a drive in the countryside. It was great. We saw deer, cows and calves. One cow had four calves nursing on her. That was really something to see.

We wish Audrey Bertrand well as she is now in the lodge. We hope you will like it there, Audrey.

Colleen Koski and Beth Maves were to Lloydminster to shop last week.

Colleen and Chantal were to North Battleford for an outing and did some shopping.

Riley and Chantal took Colleen Koski to Saskatoon for her regular checkup.

Saturday the lodge had a Mother's Day tea for the residents and Colleen was there to have tea with her mom, May Ford.

Since Colleen's son Riley was working Sunday he and Chantal are taking his mom out for supper Wednesday night.

Sympathy to the Buckley, Rutlidge, Hartman and James families on the loss of loved ones. They will be greatly missed.

The weather is not that good. The sunshine is nice but the winds are cold.
