The Cribbage games to be held Jan. 28 were cancelled due to weather and sickness.
Bingo was held Jan. 30 with a small crowd in attendance. Callers were Bev Stewart and Denise Newton. Denise also provided lunch.
The regular monthly meeting was held Feb. 1 with vice-president Shannon Smith in the chair. Lil McMillan took minutes in the absence of secretary Jean Hartman. The January-February potluck birthday lunch was held at noon Feb. 13.
Proceeds from cards and bingo for the month of February will be sent to Telemiracle.
Correspondence from the RM of Eldon- Maidstone recreation board's volunteer awards banquet was read. Forms for nominees can be picked up at the RM office.
A letter was read from Rivers West District for Sports Culture and Recreation in regard to a recognition awards banquet in April. A special meeting was organized for Feb. 13 following bingo. Following the meeting, lunch was provided by Lil McMillan.
The card game 500 was cancelled Feb. 4.
We need more card players! The first Monday of the month is 500, the second Monday is Kaiser, third Monday is Catch the 10 Whist, fourth Monday is Cribbage and if there is a fifth Monday we have games of choice. Players of any age are more than welcome to come and play, without feeling that they have to be a member of the centre. Starting time is always 2 p.m .and games are usually over by 4 p.m. Come and join us for one or all of the card games!
