Minnehaha snowmobile rally Feb. 16

We have a bit of catching up to do this week. Things have been slow around Edam in the news department. The last trip of the month draw for 2013 was won by Brian and Carol Weber of Vawn, with Terry Chambers of Turtleford winning the $100.

We have a bit of catching up to do this week. Things have been slow around Edam in the news department. The first draw for 2014 was won by Richard and Teresa Hentges of Livelong with Dan and Bev Esquirol winning the $100 and Ed and June McCaffrey of Vawn winning the 50/50 draw totalling $1,275. Congratulations to all the winners.

The Handi-Van held their first bingo of the year Jan. 10 with the following people winning chickens in the 10 regular games: Eddy Mannix, Teta Harty, Ron Bec, Zoey Pollard, Hazel Mosimann (two), Herman Hoogland, Ilene Foulds, Jeanne Pollard and June McCaffrey. There were two blackout games for hampers with Braxton Letwinetz and Huguette Johnson winning those. The kids' prizes were donated by Kay Mannix and won by Kylee Bec and Zoey Pollard. The students of HHS are starting their magazine campaign, Feb. 3 through to Feb. 25. You can order and renew your magazines through the school magazine catalogue sale or you can go online to place your order. If your magazines are due for renewal, please help the students out and order through their campaign. The website to go to is www.gsp.ca and the school code is 16165. You then follow the instructions online. By ordering online you avoid the $1 per order form processing fee on paper orders, and online orders are processed immediately therefore avoiding the four- to six-week delivery time.
