Maidstone Museum members hosted a mini snow fest Feb. 15.

Prior to the day a member brought his Bobcat and cleared the yard in the village and cleaned all the sidewalks.

Posters were up in the public school and parents with children were welcome.

A huge pile of snow was made, with a smaller one next to it, so the adventurous could slide down one and halfway up the other one.

Hot dogs, hot chocolate with marshmallows and cookies and coffee were supplied. The main kitchen was heated so little ones could play inside on a carpeted floor. Two large boxes of toys were available.

Those who attended had a marevelous time, both children and parents. The museum members who helped feel it was a worthwhile event and plan on a repeat next year.

Thank you to all who attended, as this was a first effort on the museum's part.

A museum monthly meeting was held Feb. 17 at the seniors' centre with president Mae Hinde presiding. Most of the meeting was taken up by discussing the silent auction that will be held April 5 and 6 in conjunction with the trade fair. This is our main money-raising event for the year.

The next meeting will be held at the museum March 17 as the regular day is St. Patrick's Day and several members will be unable to attend. Time is 7:30 p.m. See you there.
