With summer holidays here, remember the services available at your local library. With your free library card, you have access to millions of books anywhere in the province - your one stop for information needs from engine repair and gardening to hobbies and entertainment. If you're going on a long drive, try a 'talking book,' available for download online or on CD. For the younger children, open your computer and go to www.lakeland.lib.sk.ca and sign on to Tumblebooks; these will help your child develop skills, learn to read and have fun. The Meota library web address is http://Meota.ca.

In northern British Columbia we have been visiting relatives, from the home of my son Gordon, mainly with my great-grandson Linden, who graduated at the exercises June 21 in Smithers. His mother Shari and I, and the rest of the family have been lucky to spend a couple of days with Linden.
I also spent an afternoon with my sister-in-law Bernice Sparkes in Telkwa. Bernice is well recuperated from knee surgery and able to tend her garden and keep her yard looking like a park, however she has had to hire a crew to trim her hedges.

I was here for Gordon's birthday last Sunday and Shelley's on Wednesday, so we had happy family gatherings.
