A new exhibition at the Chapel Gallery is the culmination of two years of mentorship for eight local artists.

"Momentum" showcases the work of Joel Carignan, Oriol Dancer, Audrey Fine Day, Holly Hildebrand, Chris Hodge, Karen Kowalski, Karlie King and Dana Standinghorn.

This group has been learning and creating through the Creative Partnerships program for the past two years. Terry Billings is the mentor/artist who has been helping each local artist with their individual goals and guiding them as they work as a group on community projects.

This show has a range of pieces from sculpture, acrylic paintings and video to mixed media and pencil drawings. Each artist has chosen their best work to demonstrate the skills they have developed during the project.

Plan to attend the opening reception on Friday, Dec. 9 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Chapel Gallery. The artists will be in attendance to discuss their work and reflect on the success of the project.

For more information please contact the Chapel Gallery at 445-1757. The Chapel Gallery is located in the Don Ross Centre at 891 - 99th St. Gallery hours are noon to 4 p.m. from Wednesday through Sunday. Support for the gallery is provided by the Saskatchewan Arts Board and the City of North Battleford.
