It all started with a rain shower July 6 at the farmyard of Arlene Walker.
Guests had to take shelter in Almlia Hus or the tent for the first half hour or so as the Sons of Norway held a picnic for members, families and friends. More than 50 attended.
Those attending were divided into six teams to compete in games such as Kubb, bocci, ring toss, apple peeling and memory games. A cold plate supper along with biscuits and bush pies cooked over the open fire was shared.
Norwegian fjord horses were a hit. They were combed, brushed and led around by the young and the older folks.
After supper Pastor Dave Walker and his wife, Lorna, entertained. They are both excellent singers as well as musicians playing the accordion and auto harp.
It was an enjoyable day for all - good friends, good food and a good time.
