The Battlefords Photo Club held its first meeting of 2013 Jan. 8.

The club's focus of the meeting was night photography. With nine club members in attendance, most of the club decked themselves out in their winter gear and proceeded to brave the cold night to practise the technique. Those who chose to remain indoors practised in a dark room with candles and Christmas lights. Many different tips were shared among the members creating a number of wonderful photos. A few interesting and artistic effects were also explored sending members home with something else they could practice in their spare time. For those who have had trouble with taking photos at night, it was truly a learning experience that will add to their ever expanding photography knowledge.

The next meeting will be held Tuesday, Feb. 5 at 7 p.m. in North Battleford at the Don Ross Centre. Meetings are held the first Tuesday of each month. New members are encouraged to come out and see what the club is about. Don't forget to bring your camera. Please contact Chris Wolfe at 445-3909 for more information.
