A winner of two Grey Cups, will be the guest speaker at the Battlefords Mayor's Prayer Breakfast sponsored by the Battlefords Ministerial Association April 5.
The Battlefords Mayor's Prayer Breakfast is an annual event, the goal of which is to honour and support the civic leaders of two close-linked communities. Mayors Ian Hamilton of North Battleford and Derek Mahon of Battleford will be the guests of honour.
The keynote speaker of this year's event is Michael Palmer, who has won two Grey Cups, the first in 2004 as a member of the Toronto Argonauts and in 2007 as a wider receiver with the Roughriders.
Now an entrepreneur and professional motivational speaker, Palmer focuses on topics including "The Importance of Having a Dream," "Personal Growth," Leadership," "Anti-bullying," "Attitude" and "Believing in Ourselves" to name a few.
Palmer says his faith has been a significant factor in his life. He enjoys talking and sharing aspects of his faith with others. He will be speaking about how Jesus Christ has influenced every aspect of his life, including sports, family, business and community involvement.
He and his wife Kaya live in Regina where Palmer is an account manager at WDM Office Systems.
The Battlefords Ministerial Association says it has been encouraging to see men and women from all walks of life in the community attending this event, showing support to their mayors, and it invites all to attend this inspiring function.
Tickets are available at Bee-Js Office Plus, Living Faith Chapel of Territorial Drive Alliance Church at a cost of $25 per person or $175 for a table of eight. It will be held at the Western Development Museum Saturday, April 5 at 8:30 a.m.
