The mayor encouraged residents to take part in the day’s activities, which include disc golf at St. Elizabeth Park, the storyboard walk and spray park at Water Ridge Park, mini-golf at the chamber of commerce office, golf at the Humboldt Golf Club, bowling at Kemway Lanes, swimming at the Aquatic Centre, and fireworks at 10 a.m. at Centennial Park.

, said Canada Day was a day where people can reflect on all of the great work that people have done before us to build this wonderful nation and to celebrate those who are still working to keep the country one of the best in the world.

“I want to thank all of those within the community of Humboldt and surrounding area for the work that they do for their community and to make the community such a great place to live and raise our families,” she said.

, said Canadians have much to be proud of: the outstanding people, places and events that have formed the nation’s history, and a heritage of courage, hard work and quiet resilience handed down by past generations.

“With our commitment to freedom, democracy, human rights and the rule of law, Canada certainly is the true north, strong and free,” she said. “No amount of uncertainty or worry can diminish all the admirable people, beautiful places, and wonderful events that we have the great honour to claim as our own.”
