Spring arrived for a brief visit. There were a few muddy boots and pants during the week as students jumped in the puddles. Students were also still skating and playing broomball on the ice, so spring has not completely taken over the activities.

The spring set of parent-teacher interviews were held the evenings of March 19 and 20. It was a chance to discuss student progress and to observe some of the wonderful work the students are doing in their classes.

If you have driven past the school lately, you will have noticed the new sign on the lawn. A year and a half ago, a committee was formed to do fundraising. They chose to raise funds for a new sign to be placed on the school lawn. This sign would display important events happening at the school. The sign arrived a few weeks ago and has now been erected. We would like to thank the fundraising committee, staff and families who sold football tickets, and everyone who supported any fundraising activities.
A very successful hot dog sale was held March 26. All the proceeds from the sale will be given to Nate Starycki and his family to help with a few expenses while they are at the Toronto Sick Children's Hospital in Toronto. Thanks to the SLC and Jean Brehon for organizing the sale. Special thanks to the Battlefords Co-op for donating all the supplies, and everyone who supported the fundraiser by purchasing hot dogs or sending donations. Staff and students think of Nate and his family often and wish them all the best.
The staff and students would like to express deepest sympathies to Jeremy Haidenger on the passing of his mother, Donna Brunet. Jeremy is a Grade 7 student in the school. Thoughts are with him and his family.
Staff and students would like to express their gratitude and best wishes to two bus drivers. Mel Deagnon has decided to retire and Clifford Greenslade has decided to pursue another employment opportunity. They are thanked for all their service and commitment to the students of the school. Everyone at the school wishes Mel and Clifford the best of health and happiness in their new pursuits.
There will be no school March 28. The staff will be involved in a professional development day. The topic will be inclusion in the classroom.
Hopefully, everyone will be able to get outside soon and see those fresh new spring crocuses.
