Hi there! Well, there is no doubt that March came in like a lion and we left a very frigid February behind, thank goodness. However, folks, as much as we complain about our weather, we appreciate the sunshine and it will soon be spring (or so the calendar says).
I think everyone here in the Tower is staying close to home these days unless they have to go out for appointments. However, there are a number of activities still going on in the high rise.
There is kaiser on Tuesday, shuffleboard on Wednesday, whist on Thursday and bingo on Saturday. As well, Bob Sarrasin puts on a movie every Sunday evening, which many of the seniors enjoy.
I also noticed the lounge looks lovely with the St. Patrick's Day decorations. Thanks to Barb Foot and her decorating committee. There are crafts Mondays at 1:30 p.m. on the third floor, where everyone likes to make different things and have fun. Everyone is welcome. Unfortunately, I'm not a crafty person, but admire people who are.
We always look forward to having Second to None cater for us. Feb. 13 they served a roast beef dinner. As always, it was delicious.
Feb. 16, Bob Sarrasin and his helpers made a tasty breakfast of sausage and pancakes with whipped cream and strawberries. Yum, yum, is all I can say! Thank you, Bob and your assistants.
Feb. 21, many enjoyed hearing Larry and friends entertaining with good old country music. This is the kind of music we seniors have grown up with and so appreciate hearing it from time to time.
Congratulations to Orville and Katie Fehr who celebrated their 68th anniversary Feb. 13. That is quite a milestone, folks, and we are glad you are residing here.
Welcome to our newcomers and there have been many lately. As I always say, take time to have coffee in the lounge and become acquainted,
I hope Edith Lockhart is enjoying having her son visit from British Columbia. It is always nice to have family with you for awhile.
Hope everyone is keeping well. The cold weather should kill these germs. Try to keep warm, folks. Bye for now.
