The Manitou Creative Quilters (MCQ) held their bi-annual Gala Evening fundraiser in the Neilburg Community Hall April 21, with 120 women gathering from Neilburg and the surrounding areas. The evening was emceed by Jeannette Ganzer, and included a specially prepared four course supper and a silent auction.

The guest speaker, Michelle Gustufson delivered her entertaining and motivational speech titled Confidently Confident. The Silent auction had a selection of quilted items as well as many home and garden selections. The savvy bidders generated $2,500 which is being donated to the Lloydminster Regional Health Foundation intensive care unit.

The quilters also donated 19 charity quilts to Lloydminster Interval Home and the men's shelter. The raffle quilt was won by Vicki Duncalfe.

MCQ very much appreciates all the donors, buyers, guests and the East Manitou ladies and servers for their support. Funding through Sask. Lotteries also helped to make the evening enjoyable and such a huge success.
