Hi again, everyone! My, time certainly flies. We've already passed Nov. 1.

October was really a lovely month for us. Most days there was sunshine and not too cold, so we were lucky. Halloween also was quite a nice day for the children.

Painters were busy here in the lounge last month. It was closed for two weeks for them to take off old wallpaper and repaint it all. It looks so nice now, all fresh and bright and clean. They did a good job.

Of course all of our activities came to a halt for a while. Thanks to Louise Haubold who organized coffee for us on the third floor. We appreciate that, Louise.

Thanksgiving was being celebrated by many of our tenants here. Betty Bonson had her family from Innisfail, Alta., with her for Thanksgiving. I can imagine how you enjoyed their visit, Betty.

Edith Dirksen was happy to have her daughter and family from Edmonton to spend this holiday with her.

Cecile Dupuis travelled to Cut Knife to spend Thanksgiving with her son and family. I'm sure you had a nice visit, Cecile.

Ada Pasutto enjoyed spending Thanksgiving dinner with her daughters Marina and Joy. Her other daughter Carol Morrison and her granddaughter Raina were also present from Moose Jaw. Vicky Ross was there, too, but Carla Hewson and three children from Camrose, Alta., couldn’t make it at this time. It’s so nice to get together with family, especially for Thanksgiving, Ada.

Louise Haubold spent Thanksgiving at her son Barry and wife Deenna Haubold’s home. She said it was a very special time for her, to go back to her old home east of Glenbush. Louise also enjoyed being taken to the Dekker Centre for the Louisiana Hayride Show Oct. 30. This was a birthday treat from her daughter Lynn Kohl. Betty Bonson also accompanied them.

Louise was pleased to have her son Devon staying off and on from May to August. He was able to get work with SaskTel after an interview with the University of Saskatchewan. She said she’s going to miss him when he goes back to the U of S for his fifth year.

She says she also misses the Bargain Shop. So do we all, Louise. Do hope they build somewhere downtown again.

Ida Baker missed her news in September so I’m writing it now. Ida’s daughter, son-in-law and grandson came from Hamilton, Ont., to visit her Sept. 1. After having supper with her, they went to stay at the Gold Eagle Lodge. They all went to her other daughter and son-in-law's for a visit and supper there Sept. 2. Ida’s daughter picked her up and all went driving around and taking pictures of different places Sept. 4. The next day, Ida’s daughter Marlene from here drove them all to Biggar to visit her sister. They had dinner there then came home at about 3 p.m.

The next day, Ida booked the lounge here and had everyone enjoy a KFC supper. Her daughter and a friend from Saskatoon were also present. She said it was nice to have everybody together. I'm sure it was, Ida.

The next day, she made lunch downstairs for noon for some who could come. Then her daughter and family from Hamilton stayed and had supper with Ida. Afterwards they travelled to Saskatoon to stay with Ida’s daughter. Later they got on the plane back home. It sounds like you had a lovely visit with all of your family, Ida.

Ida went to Biggar Sept. 14. The next day her nephew took her and her sister to Tofield, Alta., to visit another sister. They visited their niece in the hospital who has MS. Afterwards her sister drove them around sightseeing. Then she drove them to Camrose, Alta. At the end of the week, Ida's nephew came to Wainwright, Alta. to meet them; then they came home. It did seem like a wonderful trip, Ida.

She also said she was home for Thanksgiving.

Shirley Tebay spent Thanksgiving Sunday at the home of Gary and Roberta. Dennis and Juliette, Dale and Joyce and Brennan, Chelsey and Cameron were also there. They all enjoyed a delicious turkey supper with all the trimmings.

Shirley organizes the Kaiser every Tuesday night. The scores last Tuesday were first, Edith Dirkson; second, Louise Haubold and Betty Bonson tied; and third, Shirley Tebay.

My family and I had a lovely, tasty dinner at a restaurant this year. I decided to give my daughters a rest from cooking. They didn't mind a bit.

Halloween was celebrated here with a pizza party and games on the seventh floor organized by Bev McCrimmon, with bingo in the main lodge.

All activities have begun again, which is nice.

There are many new faces in Tower II now. Hope most of you come for coffee in the lounge and get acquainted.

The curling season has started again. I guess everyone knows where I will be most of the time.

Don't forget your flu shot this month. Until next time, take care, everyone.
