Jan. 14, Honoured Royal Lady Georgina Schnelder welcomed 23 members of the St. Walburg Royal Purple to the first meeting in 2013 by wishing a happy, prosperous New Year to all.

For the first half hour, members listened to the three parties who gave presentations, seeking donations from the organization. There was one application for membership and Marie Peterson was into the lodge with a special ceremony.

Members voted to raise catering prices. This was made necessary by steadily increasing food prices. Primus Electrical will be upgrading kitchen electricity. There was no Sunshine Report, but many members have suffered from the flu and one member is nursing an injured foot. Get well thoughts go out to all. A thank you card was read from Lady Delores Volk for the flowers, cards, visits and phone calls received while she is recuperating from surgery. Sympathy of the lodge is extended to Lady Olive Schneider and Lady Helen Harris on the loss of Mr. Harris.

It was decided to table two requests for funding until a future date, and members voted to support the local arena with $10,000 for necessary upgrades.

Ladies Olive Schneider, Helen Harris and Sophie Brown contributed to the January birthday fund.

Georgina Schneider, Jean Steinacher and Inge Knopf represented this lodge at North Battleford member Beverly Tornberg's funeral.

February is Past Honoured Royal Ladies' month. Names were picked out of a pail as to who would occupy which chair.

Next meeting date is Feb. 11.
