Honoured Royal Lady Georgina Schneider welcomed 28 members of the St. Walburg Royal Purple to the April meeting.
Members interested in attending the national convention July 13-18 at Grande Prairie, Alta. or the provincial conference June 6-9 at Star City can contact the secretary for forms.
Kim Gardner will be initiated as a new member at the North Battleford district meeting.
Officers remain the same for the coming year, except Irene Kerr has agreed to be Lecturing Lady. Past District Deputy Donna Hall will conduct installation at the May meeting. It was agreed to begin the May meeting at 7:30 p.m. for a catering discussion. May is hearing and speech month.
A $1,500 grant was approved to send a child to Camp Easter Seal for one week. This is matched by Century 21 Dome Realty Inc., which means there is an opportunity for one additional child to attend a one-week camp.
Imhoff Heritage Society was also given a $1,500 grant for repairs at the site.
A mentalist entertainer has been booked for Ladies' Nigth Out May 4, as well as other surprises. Tickets are $25. A diamond ring will be raffled with tickets available from any member. A fun-packed evening is anticipated.
Rose and Jean Steinacher celebrated April birthdays. Erma Kuchler earned a 30-year pin and 15-year pins were presented to Joyce Fowler and Rose Steinacher.
Sadly the lodge has lost long-time member Mary Novlan, who passed away April 6.
St. Walburg Royal Purple has accepted a piano donated by Les and Bernice Prosser in memory of Josephine Prosser. Les Prosser is Josephine's nephew.
The travelling gavel was taken to North Battleford April 18.
Lunch committee for April, May and June includes Joan Karst, Maryanne Kurjata and Olive Schneider.
