Lodge gold sponsors of minor hockey

Since last St. Walburg Royal Purple report, members enjoyed a December potluck supper, meeting and Christmas party attended by 32 members. District Deputy Dorothea Hocher made her official visit that night as well.

HRL Georgina Schneider presented Sophie Brown with a 15-year pin. Sympathy from the lodge goes out to Helen Harris and family on the passing of their son Robert. Get well wishes to Maryanne Kurjata and Dianne Lalonde, who have been hospitalized recently, as well as, other members who are ailing.

The lone December birthday acknowledged was Thelma Romphf.

Lunch committee named for January, February and March is Kim Gardner, Delores Volk and Jacquie Mysko; April, May and June - Marie Peterson, Peggy Bull and Rosemarie Veenstra.

St. Walburg Lodge is prepared to carry on another year of Purpledom and the lodge is actively seeking new members. New to our community and would like to meet people? HRL Georgina welcomed 22 members to the January meeting and guided them through all the business.

Royal Purple Canada is celebrating their 100th anniversary in 2014. St. Walburg Royal Purple has been in existence since 1956 and at present is able to boast at being the largest lodge in Saskatchewan. We intend to have some form of celebration to commemorate our years of service.

Thank you to minor hockey for providing eight tickets to their hockey banquet honouring the lodge as gold sponsors. These ladies will dress in regalia. It was voted to give minor hockey an additional $500 donation.

Drivers are in place for delivering meals on wheels in January. Happy birthday was sung to Sophie Brown, Helen Harris, Olive Schneider, Peggy Bull and Kim Gardner, who celebrated January birthdays. February is Past Honored Royal Ladies Night and names were picked to fill officer chairs.
