The North Battleford Exhibition Grounds were packed Wednesday afternoon for the second of a three day powwow.
Sakicawasihk 2013, the Gold Eagle Casino powwow, celebrated its 15th annual event. The sound of drum circles and singing could be heard from the parking area as dancers from as far as New Mexico gathered under the tent to escape the heat. Approximately 400 dancers took part in the competition, with prizes being awarded from the top dancers from each of the age groups. Monetary prizes were also up for grabs for drummers.
