Summer Fun Centre is still a happening place to be for kids ages five to 11. Last week the centre had theme week. This week SFC participants create a craft each morning and activities include games and fun each afternoon. Friday they are making pop can pigs and every Friday afternoon they go swimming. Next week will be the wrap up week. For more information or details you contact the Town of Unity.

The swimming pool is a busy place with lessons taking place during the day. Moonlight swims are still happening every Monday and Wednesday nights from 10 to 11 p.m. for ages 12 and up. Aquasizes are running and there is public swimming each afternoon and evening. The swimming pool staff has added an extra set of one week lessons August 15 to 19. They also take bookings for birthday parties.

The Communities in Bloom committee is anxiously awaiting the results of their entry in this completion. They were pleased with the attendance and support at the community picnic on July 28.

Unity golf club is busy this summer with family reunions and have hosted several business golf tournaments already. Aug. 18 they will host a senior tournament, followed Aug. 20th by a four-man scramble. Aug. 21, Heartland Health is hosting an event here. Make sure to call the golf club if you want information on any of these activities, or just to book a tee time at our golf club.

Unity Golf Club, as well as the entire community, is wishing our very own Justin Wood well as he plays in Nationals in Surrey, B.C

After travelling this past week through Ontario and the states I can find many things to appreciate our province for. There are also other ideas and notions you see in other places that could work well in our province. It was wonderful to see a beautiful part of our own fine nation. Niagara Falls itself is a wonder of the world that has to be seen to be appreciated. I would also recommend Great Wolf Lodge resort for a great family adventure while you are there. We saw an article earlier in May on this resort in the Saskatoon StarPhoenix and impressed with all it had to offer.

Coffee row folks are enjoying all the activity this community has offered so far this year. They are discussing the turning of the crops, the unfortunate weather damage some farmers had to endure and the optimism that always precedes the harvest season. Of course the continual missteps of our Riders are also on the agenda sigh.

You can see we keep busy in Unity with activities and wisdom from our friends on coffee row. Until next week
