Lions host social evening

BORDEN — The Borden Lions held a gathering June 24 at the acreage of Jan and George Sparks featuring supper and entertainment.

Inclement weather moved the event to the garage with a number of heaters on the go to try to keep everyone warm. The Lions provided the burgers, hot dogs and buns and everyone else brought salads and desserts.

A number of the new members were able to join in to enjoy the hospitality of the Sparks.

Entertaining for a few songs were Celtic Country – Bob Wardhaugh, Perry Nicol, Archie Wainwright and Ed Neufeld. Kendall Redhead and Jamie Brandrick joined in for several numbers.
