The past weekend was busy at the Chapel Gallery with the Rethinking Landscapes workshop facilitated by Dean Bauche.

His innovative teaching methods have made him a popular and sought after art educator across Western Canada. The workshop explored a new approach to landscape painting by using classical techniques, along with HDR (high dynamic range) photography, that impact the quality of landscape painting in oil, acrylic and watercolour.

Participant feedback indicated the workshop met expectations and that there were plenty of visual examples and practical information to apply to their artwork. Participants also said we are fortunate to have these workshops offered in our area.

The Chapel Gallery's upcoming workshop is The Western Art of Graham Flatt - Beginners Watercolour Workshop Nov. 16 to 18. This amazing western artist gives a salt of the earth approach to creating a scene in a matter of moments. These are subtle and passionate landscapes that awaken imagination and emotion. He will show participants how to bring the canvas to life.

Presented by the Chapel Gallery, A Special Concert with Saskia and Darrel will be held at the Chapel Gallery Nov. 9. The Saskatchewan based singer/songwriter duo are preparing to sing their last few local shows of the season before heading out for new horizons. It promises to be a magical evening of friendship and laughter at the Chapel Gallery.

Marigold Market - Art, Craft and Food Fair will be gracing the Chapel Gallery with a wonderful array of artisans, featuring pottery, fused glass, textile art, knitting, vintage jewelry, gourmet foods and Bonaventure Lions Christmas cakes to name a few. Come and tantalize your senses and take in the magnificent creations and flavours. It will run from Friday 11 a.m to 7 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m to 6 p.m. Admission is free and door prizes will be drawn.
