Kiss the pig contest contributes to benefit

At the start of Grade 12 for our daughter, I said I would be panicking by the first day of summer. Here it is and yes, I am panicking. The to-do list for graduation still seems long but the days of having our girl at home seem to be getting shorter.

The to-do list for graduation still seems long but the days of having our girl at home seem to be getting shorter. Congratulations once again, UCHS and students Toni Burnell and Courtney Boser who organized the Kiss the Pig contest at the school to benefit the Krpan family as their son Quinn travels to Edmonton for heart surgery. With the stay predicted to be anywhere from 10-14 days, the students wanted to help out in some way to cover expenses while living away from home. Although Quinn's surgery was postponed to June 28, the gesture goes a long way to show support and love for the family in the upcoming days.

Seventy-six students were recognized at the annual Living Sky School Division Student Hall of Fame celebration in Battleford June 13. Predictions are made between the Stanley Cup finalists. Rider season is often thrown around on the table, especially after the big come-from-behind win June 14. As the season draws closer, there is much excitement about the team in a Grey Cup year. Of course, the numerous events taking place in town this time of year are always reviewed with enthusiasm.
