A warm winter leads up to Christmas as the community holds festive events to support the community and each other.Ìý
Boasting recent sporting successes of co-hosting the 2A Senior Girls Volleyball Provincials and the Sr. Boys Volleyball team winning at their 2A Provincials, Medstead School is leaving a positive mark on 2018.
From the turkey bingo fundraiser to support the bus to swim program to the Carol Festival, the community is keeping engaged its youth.
With the Christmas concert of Dec. 19 and the celebratory dinner of Dec. 21, the Mustangs have filled the school year thus far with successful endeavors. An early dismissal on the last day of school will lead into the holiday break, school returning on Jan. 7, 2019.
Local events at the arena wind up for coming hockey games, the first of which is scheduled for Dec. 22, the event commencing at 7 p.m. There is public skating on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons, as well as Saturday mornings. Anyone with a penchant for the ice can strap on their skates and enjoy the facilities at a nominal, per use rate.
As we barrel towards the darkest night of the year, Medstead continues to find ways to fight the frost through community engagement, coming together with events and activities as it prepares for the holidays just around the corner.
