Jam session at Glenburn Regional Park July 1 weekend

As I reported last week, Glenburn Regional Park received a facelift to the concession building, and this week a stage was erected, plus a dance floor, for the jam session over the long weekend. Thanks to Al Carnahan, John Reddekopp and Mel Deagnon.

Glenburn Park hosted Canada Day activities, with this girl sporting a patriotic look.

As I reported last week, Glenburn Regional Park received a facelift to the concession building, and this week a stage was erected, plus a dance floor, for the jam session over the long weekend. Thanks to Al Carnahan, John Reddekopp and Mel Deagnon.

Our long weekend started off with a 70th birthday party held June 28 at the Glenburn Regional Park for Edna Carnahan. Family and friends joined her for this event with music and a barbecue. Edna was entertained by Tom Caldwell, John Reddekopp and Mel Deagnon.

The jammers started arriving June 30. Our locals from Hafford, Battleford and Maymont were joined by jammers from Alberta and Saskatoon. The music started around 2 p.m. and music was heard until dark.

There was a pancake breakfast Sunday morning. After breakfast the jammers played gospel music until lunch. After lunch they started up again till around 3:30 when they headed to the concession stand to play and sing O Canada.

Many people enjoyed a cake which was provided by the park. During the day there was face painting, a petting zoo, dog show, baseball and swimming. Even though the weather was a little iffy, everyone seemed to have a great time.

Thank you, one and all, for joining us to celebrate Canada Day in Glenburn Park.
