Individual student or partners picked a country to research and present. There were dishes from their country, dances demonstrated, and artifacts shared. Winners were: Grade 4, first - Nadian Holloway (Ukraine), second - Abbey Harty (Denmark); Grade 5, first - Jaxon Harty (Greece), second - Jade Cole (Jamaica); Grade 6, first - Hunter Goodall (Switzerland), Danika Holloway (Spain), second - Isaiah Morin (Vatican), Tanner Long (Finland), honourable mention - Brooke Bonsan (Scotland), Blaize Courteney (Italy).

The judges that were faced with this tremendous task were: Grade 4 judges - Elaine L'Heureux, Paul Young-Brewster and Larry LaClare; Grade 5 - Greg Frey, Andrea Thom and Evelyn Cooper; Grade 6 - Laurel Derenoski, Hazel Mosimann and Jolene Sittler. The trophies were presented to the winners Nov. 22. Congratulations to the winners. I was told that the judges had a hard time deciding and spent a great deal of time making their decisions.

The Scholastic Book Fair was in the school once again with two family nights in conjunction with parent teacher interviews Nov. 21 and 22. The book fair ran from Monday to Friday the week of Nov. 19-23. Any students who attended the family nights with their parents had their names entered into a draw for $25 worth of books. This year the winner was Kyler Lascelle. His teacher, Mrs. Laura LaClare, also won $25 worth of books for her classroom library.

There were two other contests, one for the elementary and another for the high school students. For the elementary students, a jelly bean guess, won by Candace Greening. Candace won the jar of jelly beans as well as $10 worth of books from the book fair. For the high school students, Cody Lavallee won the page guess in a stack of books on display. Cody also won $10 worth of books from the book fair.
