HUMBOLDT — One man’s legacy of raising money to fund cancer research in nationwide continued in Humboldt.

Humboldt’s Terry Fox Run, held Sept. 15, saw between 25 and 30 people participate. The ran started at Midland Glass.

“I just think that cancer affects so many people this day and age that if we can do even just a little bit – I mean, I've had family members touched by cancer – just to help support that research in that area, then we're doing a little bit to help,” said Teri Tarrant, the walk’s organizer.

Tarrant is organizing the walk in conjunction with the Humboldt Collegiate soccer team. The high school teacher said she got involved when she was a member of the girls’ soccer team and Bob Bellamy took over organizing the run.

“It's just been one of my passions to continue with the run,” she said. “I just think it's a really good cause and the money goes to a good place.”

The run went all over town, going as far as Second Avenue in the south, 16th Avenue in the north, 21st Street in the west and Fourth Street in the east

At the time of writing, a final amount raised by the run was not available.
