Hoping into spring

Finally I think it is safe to say that spring is here. The guys were talking about the crow storms ( the storm that always comes after the arrival of the crows) but this year I think we are going to be spared. The last of the snowbirds are here.

The last of the snowbirds are here. Just like the swallows arriving at Capistrano, Ewald and Marian Miller, Pete and Marg Penner and Carol Ferguson arrived last week and we are all glad to see them back. Now if anyone can find Art Penner the whole group will be intact!

New people have come to live in Rabbit Lake. Daniel and Jennie Konopelski and twin boys Andrew and Jakob have purchased the home that was formerly lived in by Bill and Ann Braun. It is great to see increased activity in the village. Welcome here. We hope that you will be able to get involved with the various activities.

Stats Canada are busy looking for people to do the census this spring. After the last census iT was gratifying to know that Rabbit Lake was the only community in the RM of Round Hill to increase its population. I am pretty sure that we have grown again since then. It will be interesting to find out.

Here is a recycling project that anyone can get involved in. Hartley Clark School is collecting the labels from Campbell's soup cans or tetra packs. All they need is the label. Be careful not to damage the bar code. Labels can be dropped off at the WhistleStop and they will be directed to the school. Campbell's will provide school equipment in exchange for a certain number of bar codes.

Guess what? Rabbit Lake is hosting a reception for Prince William and Kate Middleton on April 29. Watch for signs and invitations. Check out the details with Norma Sherman or Isabelle McLennan. I am not sure if the bride and groom will make it but if not, we will party anyway. I hear that suitable attire is required. This should be fun.
