Hockey teams have finished their regular season and now are involved in playoffs. Mark and Morgan Thomarat have been playing with the Maidstone senior Jets. Brody McFadyen has been playing in minor hockey.
As well as the March 21 fish fry, the Waseca Recreation Board are planning a raffle with draw date June 15 at a Father's Day brunch. Items for raffle are a quad donated by Boundary Preowned and Motor Sports of Lloydminster and a barbecue donated by T.J.L.D. Earthworks of Waseca. Tickets will be on sale by mid-March.
Feb. 10, was a Maidstone school holiday. A wake-a-thon, sponsored by the school council, was held on the Sunday night, Feb. 9.
Congratulations to Danielle Hult who ran for carnival queen at the recent Maidstone Carnival and became "first princess" at the event.
Former Waseca resident, Bruce Sutherland and his wife, Sheila are presently holidaying in Costa Rica. Bruce and his family have been living in Gibson, B.C. for several years. Both he and Sheila enjoy life in Costa Rica and plan to build a retirement home there where they can spend some of the winter months. Bruce plans to retire in the near future.
Guests of Janet and Chris Makey for the past two weeks were friends from near Hamilton, Ont., Shelia and Dave Lindsay. They returned home Feb. 5.
