The HMR Sport Horse Club Inc. hosted the Spring Fling, a two-day open heritage circuit horse show, May 25 and 26.
The show took place at Hidden Meadows Ranch northwest of Battleford. Fifty-three horses and riders as well as over 200 helpers, spectators, sponsors and volunteers had a wonderful weekend of competition, learning and socializing with old and new friends and their equine partners.
Competitors travelled from Milestone, Saskatoon, Lloydminster, Big River, Prince Albert and many other communities in between to enjoy the weekend, the weather, the venue, an awesome concession and the competition. Local super horse winners were Jaden Navarro and Dox, Zadie Chapman and Allys Dun Playin and Keeley-Shae Somers and Cash.
The HMR Sport Horse Club looks forward to hosting more events this year. June 16 is a hunter/jumper course day, Aug. 3-4 is a dressage clinic, Aug. 5 is a dressage show and Aug. 24-25 is a hunter/jumper show. Plans are also being made for a cow horse clinic and a horsemanship clinic.
The HMR Sport Horse Club is a non-profit corporation whose mandate is to promote a healthy lifestyle for its members through participation in and hosting of educational, recreational, charitable and competitive equestrian events in the Battlefords area.
