The North Battleford Grand Squares is celebrating its 36th anniversary of square dancing in the Battlefords.
Wednesday, Oct. 21 is the day set aside to commemorate this milestone.
After starting from a nucleus of four squares – that’s 36 dancers – in the early 1980s, the group has grown to as much as six squares over time.
The Grand Squares’ first teacher and caller for many years was Blair Wollms from Saskatoon.
For Tuesday’s celebration, the Grand Squares will be dancing to Norm Demeulle from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m.
Refreshments were served following the dancing, including a 36th anniversary cake.
Former Grand Squares members or just anyone interested in joining in a healthy, fun activity, is invited to join them to celebrate.
