Friends and family joined Bert Carpentier to celebrate his 75th birthday.

Here's a little poem for you as you a special friend to many Maymont residents.

A friend gives hope

When life is low

A friend's a place

Where you can go

A friend is honest

A friend is true

A friend is precious and that friend is you.

Birthday wishes go out to Gertie Sherman, Kim Sherman and Jean Sherman. Special wishes to Jean who turns 70 this year. Jean, you don't look any older than 60. Have a great day.

Sixty, that would be John Vanderveen. It's the over the hill for you, John. And birthday wishes to all those I have missed.

People are calling for tickets to the Oct. 6 legends show at Maymont Hall already, so if you seriously want to come get your tickets now please call Carol or Mel for tickets or more information at 306-389-2440. The doors will open at 7 p.m. and the show will start at 7:30 p.m. The previous two shows sold old. Door prizes this year are a one night stay at the Sheraton Cavalier Hotel in Saskatoon, good for a date night or could be saved for shopping. We also have a leaf blower which will come in handy this time of year.

There is great entertainment again this year. Artists performing will be Larry Symynuk as Gene Watson, Gill Brothers (Copper Creek) as the Everly Brothers, Dan McConnell as Waylon, Gerald Wiebe as Johnny Reid and Joan Rice as Wynonna. No Elvis this time, but maybe something else will be on the program.

Please join us. I'm sure you'll be entertained. They might have had the CCMAs with great stars in Saskatoon, but we have our very own stars performing at our legends show and have had others in the past.

The Maymont Dance Club held registration Sept. 11. For those who missed, I'm sure you could call Joy Domak 237-4353 or Kari Gray 389-4622. Joy will be offering jazz, tap and lyrical classes.
