Though there is no shortage of Christmas concerts this season, one upcoming concert distinguishes itself as one of the most diverse.

This Sunday, four choirs - the Kamala Youth Choir, the Battlefords Children's Preparatory Choir, the Battlefords Children's Junior Choir and the Gallery Singers - will perform together at the Dekker Centre. Combined the singers range in age from five to senior citizens. The choirs will be joined by local talent, in the form of trumpeters Jack Tatchell and Adam Streisel, and Saskatchewan's own "singing farmer," Henri Loiselle, who has sung with the choirs previously.

Demand for the concert was great enough that the first concert sold out weeks in advance, necessitating the addition of a second concert. The original, sold-out concert will take place at 7 p.m. Dec. 16, with the added concert beginning at 2:30 p.m. the same day.

Though some of the participants will have performed in the Dekker Centre previously, for many it will be their first time onstage in the new venue.

Tickets for the event can be purchased in person at the Dekker Centre Box Office, online at www.dekkercentre.com, or by phone at 445-7700.
