Battlefords Community Players, for the first time, has taken on a season sponsor.
In a statement issued this week, BCP said, "Battlefords Community Players have been fortunate over their 50-year history to have many wonderful partnerships with community businesses. The last couple of years you will have heard of the many partnerships that have allowed us to create a wonderful new storage unit and make many improvements to our clubhouse. While that work continues this year with a number of donations from very generous sponsors, BCP is very proud to announce a first ever sponsorship."
The sponsor is a new business in the community, Empress Furniture and Décor, owned by Terry Caldwell and Stacy McKay, located within Carpet Superstore on Highway 4 North.
Caldwell and McKay are familiar with BCP and the Battlefords as they have operated businesses here for some time, says BCP executive producer Donna Challis.
Last month, the Battlefords Community Players announced they will be offering more shows and more nights for the public to enjoy in their 2014-15 season of live theatre productions.
They also announced they would be performing in two venues, the Dekker Centre, where BCP has been holding its regular season productions since the 2012-13 season, and the Western Development Museum, where they performed previous to the construction of the Dekker Centre.
The 2014-15 season features three comedies and a fable.
