At this time of year, you can see some light field cultivation, rock picking and other spring work being done. Our neighbours, who swath graze their cattle, fenced off areas where the cattle did not feed. Now spring is here, the cattle have been moved back closer to their yards for the cows to calve. What swaths were left in the filed have now been baled up and hauled off the fields.

After all the lovely weather we had in the month of March, it did really feel like spring was here for sure. But April let Old Man Winter play about and the northwest winds did some funny tricks including some snow. Before returning for the summer months, high winds and a little snow fell in our area, which did not amount to much. Some rain showers and the moisture was welcome. The soil is quite dry on top, due to the lack of much winter snow fall to melt and soak in. Once this cold system passes by, soon the lovely spring weather will return and thinks like field work can go on.

Jason Bater of the St. John, Nfld. Spent a few days visiting with his parents Dwayne and Cheryle Bater and family, also his grandparents Phil and Lorna Bater and his school friends in North Battleford.

My husband Stanley and I would like to thank all those most helpful people who came to drive my husband to all his doctor and hospital appointments when he was not able to drive after having his knee replacement surgery. Thanks for all the get well cards and the many phone calls to help cheer my husband up. He is making good progress toward getting back to normal walking.

Recent visitors with Stanley and Dorothy Mills were Clayton Robertson of Bjelde Creek, Sam and Margaret Parrish of Willowmoore and Elmer and Lillian Dove of Biggar.
