Spring is really here! Extensive seeding and other field work has been done during the past week. The leaves have been slow coming out. Last Wednesday one could see the slight greening on the trees and a couple of warmer days have brought them out. The grass and dandelions have really grown during the last few days and gardeners are busy. A refreshing spring rain fell Sunday.
A service was held Sunday at St. Paul's Forest Bank with Rev. Yeung officiating. The service was a combined Sunday and burial service. Many relatives and friends travelled quite a distance to pay their last respects to Marion White as her ashes were laid to rest in St. Paul's cemetery.
Following the service, Eileen and Keith Evans hosted a lunch. During the lunchtime, visiting and reminiscing were enjoyed. Christine Pike, on behalf of St. Paul's parishioners, thanked Rev. and Mrs. Yeung for their leadership during the years when Rev. Yeung has been pastor of the Anglican churches in the area, particularly St. Paul's Forest Bank, and wished them a happy retirement.
John and Calynda Evans and children, Logan and Charlotte, of Calgary were guests of John's parents, Keith and Eileen Evans, over the weekend.
Doreen Angus and daughter, Margaret, were guests of Lois Pike for a couple of days. Doreen and Margaret flew from Victoria, B.C., their home, to be present at the service at St. Paul's and the burial of her cousin's ashes, which took place May 18.
