Farewell to a perfect summer

Here we are into September. Where has our summer gone? But it has been a lovely summer. Never has the grass been greener or the flowers more beautiful. A rose bush in front of our Tower has been blooming for the second time and is still as pretty.

Here we are into September. Where has our summer gone? But it has been a lovely summer. Never has the grass been greener or the flowers more beautiful. A rose bush in front of our Tower has been blooming for the second time and is still as pretty. I hope our fall will be just as nice.

Some of our tenants have had the opportunity to travel or have had company during the summer.

Joan Blixrud celebrated her 85th birthday out at the park with many of her family and friends. She even enjoyed a pontoon boat ride out on the lake. I'm sure you had a wonderful time, Joan, and happy birthday.

Eleanor Taylor travelled to Sherwood Park to visit with her family for two weeks. She related having a nice time, but we are so glad to have her back here again.

Barb Foot was busy attending graduations this summer. One granddaughter graduated in Pierceland and the other at John Paul II. I'm sure you enjoyed both and was a proud grandma, Barb.

Mary Birch was also a proud grandma as she saw her granddaughter join the air cadets in Denzil. She will be going to Alberta for 10 days at a camp for further training.

Vivian Bertach was happy to have two nieces visit her from Regina and Saskatoon over the summer.

Ann Laodes was glad to have her niece and family from Smithers, B.C. and Calgary, Alta. come for a weekend visit.

Cecile Dupuis had two weddings to go to recently. Her niece lives in Cut Knife but had her wedding in North Battleford. Her grandson, who lives in Saskatoon, is having his wedding at Don Ross Centre.

Delia said she went to Turtleford to see her family. While there she enjoyed attending a powwow with lots of dancing and colourful costumes.

Harry Smith had his grandson visiting from Lloydminster.

Anna Roberts, who once lived here, celebrated her 100th birthday out at the park. I heard she had a wonderful gathering of her family and friends. Congratulations, Anna.

I also had a busy but lovely summer out at the lake with family. We also celebrated my two granddaughters' and my daughter's birthdays, which all happen to be in August.

Congratulations go out to Laurel Rascher and Patrick Allan, Tower residents, on their recent marriage. We hope they will be able to continue living here. Laurel is our very adept librarian.

Get well wishes go out to Vivian Bertach and Mario Pusutto, who are in the hospital. We hope they will be better soon and can come home again. Mario is now living at River Heights Lodge.

By the way, Mario and Ada are celebrating their 65th anniversary now. Congratulations to you both.

Welcome to all our newcomers. We've had quite a few new people move in. I hope you will all come and join in our activities, which will resume this month. There's coffee morning and afternoon every day in the lounge. Find the times for everything and join us.

That's all the news for now. I hope the farmers get all their harvesting done while the weather's nice.
