Paynton enjoyed great weather Feb. 13 for the village's Family Fun Day. Starting with a full hall of guests for the fire department pancake breakfast, the day got off to a delicious start.
BTR Industrial and Ag of North Battleford was on site for fire extinguisher certifications, re-fills and sales as well as sponsoring a portion of the breakfast.
Two of St. Walburg’s finest firefighters showed their support by joining in for the opening of Paynton’s newly renovated hall.
Kids of all ages enjoyed the fire truck rides, saskatoon berry pancakes and donated sausages from Diamond 7 Meats before heading over to the gym for horse and buggy rides, lunch and children’s activities.
Wayne Penny came out to share his music with the crowd during lunch and the games.
Village councillors, firefighters, parents and kids from around town finished the day with a broom ball game in the street. The oldest kids will be feeling that game for a while.
Residents of Paynton hope to hold many more events in the near future to help restore the vitality this little village once had.
