Fall lineup begins Sept. 19

The Dekker Centre for the Performing has announced its fall season, which begins Sept. 19 with the Dylan Thomas Show.

The Dekker Centre for the Performing has announced its fall season, which begins Sept. 19 with the Dylan Thomas Show.

Direct from Los Angeles this solo acoustic show is a tribute to the songs and genius of Bob Dylan and has been playing throughout California for the past three years.

The first children's show, Splash and Boots, the Canadian Children's Group of the Year, is offered up Sept. 27.

Elvis, Elvis, Elvis will be in the building Oct. 9. On Oct. 21 Lorne Elliott brings his award winning stand-up comedy to town. Star of the CBC radio show, Maddly Off In All Directions, for 11 years, Elliot's clean, witty take on everything ordinary is anything but, according to a Dekker Centre release.

Colin James, a popular performer in his previous stop in the Battlefords, is back Oct. 26. Oct. 27, Shumka 50 bring their internationally famous dance spectacular to the Gordon Tootoosis stage.

The one woman play, Miss Caledonia will be presented Nov. 2. The Globe and Mail says, "here's a winning show you'd take your grandmother or your granddaughter to in a wink."

Nov. 3, The Gallery Singers And Friends return with an evening of choral music and fun. The Celtic Tenors perform Nov. 15. A polished international reputation and over a million album sales attest to their talent and charm, the centre claims.

Nov. 19 through 23, Battleford Community Players present The Game's Afoot.

To kick off the Christmas season, the Battlefords Union Hospital Foundation Festival Of Trees moves to the Dekker Centre from Nov. 28 through Dec. 1. Offering a range of events and activities for the whole community the festival is sure to get you in the spirit of the season.

The Kinsmen Band returns to the centre Dec.1 to offer up a quality Christmas music concert. The Nylons bring their Christmas and greatest hits show to the stage Dec 3. Battleford Blend, the Battlefords chapter of Sweet Adelines, present an evening of harmonies and humour Dec. 8.

The Battleford Childrens Choirs, Gallery Singers and Friends return for two shows on Dec 15. with Wintersong, a repertoire of Christmas favourites.

The fall season ends Dec 19 with The Gatlin Brothers Christmas Show. These Nashville stars have over 30 top 40 hits to their credit and are said to continue to wow audiences around the world with high energy antics and incredible harmonies.
