Fall is here with all its beautiful autumn colours. Wouldn't it be great if this nice weather lasts until the farmers get their crops off? We'll hope so.
At Tower II, all activities are going full steam ahead with cards, shuffle board, entertainment and meals. There's always coffee served every morning and afternoon, too. So there's really no lack of something to do. I hope our newcomers will come down and get acquainted.
On Monday, Sept. 15 our birthday party was celebrated for June, July, August and September. Our congratulations for a happy birthday go to: June - Anne Loades, Judy Slind and Delia Thunderchild; July, Martha Spielman, Cecile Dupris, Marie Child, Clyde Dewar and Rose Moren; August - Melvina Lewis, Anne Ewanchuk, Laurel Allan, Mildred Klews, Robert Reed; September - David Toth, Darlene Fisher, Nancy Milnthorp, Bev Brundige, Anna Storgard and Phyllis Bec. We had a lovely time with Russell Lahti entertaining us on keyboard and singing all our old favourites.
Ann Ewanchuk visited her friends at River Heights Lodge. She was very proud of her great-granddaughter Jazzy Bourelle who drove Ann visiting in her little yellow car. Never a dull moment. Ann attended a Cabbage Roll Bee in their church basement with about two dozen ladies. Many of us are so grateful for the vegetables given us by John and Vi Shumlich on our "give away table." Thank you, folks.
Ann attended a very memorable birthday party Doris Lilian Cornell celebrated her 110th birthday at Villa Pascal. When asked "how do you feel?" she answered "I don't have a pain in my body." How very wonderful and so fortunate.
With her church group Ann helps selling tickets for Harvest Ball and Nov. 8 made perogies and cabbage rolls. On Sunday, Sept. 28 Ann attended a 50th anniversary of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of All Saints at Lloydminster. Thanks to Jeanie Penzie for driving her there.
A lovely buffet meal was served. So nice to see so many young parents with their small children attending. Ann also takes swimming exercises in the pool with the help of her masseuse and acupuncturist. So glad you're feeling fine, Ann.
We have many newcomers in our Tower now. Some I've met are Richard Ewans, Erwin Kopp, Deanne Johnson, Francis Cole, Laurie Labbe and Betty Bonson. Welcome to you all.
Thanks to the decorating committee who put up the beautiful decorations in the lounge. Each month pertains to the occasion. October will likely be for Thanksgiving and Halloween. Is that right, girls!
That will be all for now. Hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving.
