Wednesday, The Chapel Gallery will unveil the striking and intriguing work of Saskatchewan Métis artist Tim Moore in an exhibition entitled HYBRID. Through various media, including painting, sculpting and drawing, Moore examines the idea of personal and collective identities, while exploring what it means to be Métis. He views the Métis identity as a negotiation between two cultures, which he believes results in creative freedom to explore what it means to be Métis.

"It is my belief that we are a people of two distinct cultures with the ability to create our own identities on an individual basis," Moore said in his statement. "We wear culture like clothing. And we can change, making us an extremely versatile, adaptable and dynamic people."

HYBRID has been touring Saskatchewan through the Organization of Saskatchewan Arts Councils. HYBRID, presented Nov. 14 to Dec. 31, is sponsored by the Battleford Allied Arts Council.

There are still a few spaces left in the Beginners Watercolour Workshop with Graham Flatt.
