The Battlefords Photo Club held it's monthly meeting May 6. Members present viewed and voted for the photo challenge winner for the monthly challenge, "environmental" photos of the meeting room. Brian Beaubien's Artistic Fruit was chosen as the winner.

John Bowyer led the educational part of the evening, which entailed using candles as a lighting source. Members participated, practising the technique photographing fruit.

May has been busy, as the club has been heading out, enjoying the weather and taking in some field trips. May 10 members visited the animal shelter to hone in on their animal photography skills.

Next month's meeting will be held Tuesday, June 3 at the Allen Sapp Gallery at 7 p.m. The night will consist of the adjudication of the member's photos, which can be viewed at the spring show: an exhibit of the member's work.

The show will be held June 5, 6 and 7 at the Co-op Mall in North Battleford.

Come by and vote for your favourite photo. When you do, your name will be entered into a random draw for a gift certificate at the end of the show. And the most voted for photo will be crowned the people's choice winner and the photographer of that photo will win a gift certificate as well.

June is the last meeting before the summer. September will start a new year of the Battlefords Photo Club and we encourage everyone, no matter your skill level, to come and join in the fun. For more information please call Chris at 306-445-3909.
